Proposed Spin-Out · Ducros Nickel Project · Abitibi, Québec

High-grade nickel sulphides. Kilometre-scale nickel-cobalt.

One Québec project, headed for its own listing.

Aurbis Resources has begun the spin-out of its 100%-owned Ducros Nickel Project into a new company, with proportionate shares to be distributed to Aurbis shareholders. Drilling has already outlined high-grade Ni-Cu-PGE sulphides at Fortin Sill and two large nickel-cobalt ultramafic intrusions.

Two ways to win at Ducros

Most Abitibi juniors chase one type of nickel deposit. Ducros has two: a high-grade sulphide zone with copper, cobalt and precious metals, and large, low-grade nickel-cobalt intrusions of the kind being advanced elsewhere in the belt.

  • Headline intercept: 11.80 m of 1.44% Ni, 1.49% Cu, 461 ppm Co and 2.79 g/t Pt-Pd-Au in QDG-22-29, including 8.43 m of 1.85% Ni, 1.65% Cu, 576 ppm Co and 3.27 g/t Pt-Pd-Au.
  • Mineralization starts at surface: close to 100 channel samples from the discovery outcrop, which the company reported greatly expanded the known surface footprint.
  • Step-out drilling found more sulphides down-plunge, including 4.90 m of 0.77% Ni, 0.56% Cu, 340 ppm Co and 0.80 g/t Pt-Pd-Au.
  • Scoping-level metallurgy by SGS produced two concentrates: a high-grade copper-gold-palladium concentrate and a nickel-cobalt-platinum concentrate (~5% Ni at ~72% average recovery).

These results, combined with the high-grade nickel-copper-PGE sulphide zone we have at Fortin Sill, make us a very rare Abitibi-focused junior exploration company that can boast of having these two styles of nickel targets in its inventory.

Location advantage

In the heart of the Abitibi

Ducros sits in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt of northwestern Québec, roughly 80–85 km northeast of Val-d’Or and near Lebel-sur-Quévillon. It is an established mining region: the maiden drill program was run by Val-d’Or-based Orbit Garant Drilling.

De-risked starting point

The groundwork is in. The new company starts with a head start.

A new company usually has to spend its first year working up targets. At Ducros, the surveys, drilling, metallurgy and baseline studies are already complete, so new money can go straight to follow-up drilling.
Drilling
Over 38,000 m
More than 21,000 m in the 2022 inaugural program, plus 17,815 m in 50 holes in 2023, across Fortin Sill, Ducros Sill, Q-Zone and DUSC.
Geophysics
VTEM + gravity
A 1,717 line-km helicopter VTEM survey and a 2,054 line-km airborne gravity survey, both used to generate drill targets.
AI targeting
ALS GoldSpot
ALS GoldSpot Discoveries’ AI-assisted study identified over a dozen new nickel-sulphide targets, plus new large-tonnage nickel-cobalt anomalies similar to the Q-Zone and Ducros Sill Trend.
Metallurgy & environment
SGS + BluMetric
SGS scoping-level flotation tests on Fortin Sill core (two distinct concentrates; rock rated “moderately soft”), and baseline hydrological and biological studies by BluMetric Environmental started in 2023.
